Wedding in Golfo Aranci

Church of Santa Lucia – Hotel Gabbiano Azzurro

Michele and Ivana’s wedding is a story deeply rooted in Sardinia — in its landscapes, its traditions, and the places that have shaped their lives. For their celebration, they chose to unite the quiet beauty of the Gallurese countryside with the sea of Golfo Aranci, locations profoundly intertwined with their personal history.

They decided to remain in their homeland, between Olbia and the coast, surrounded by familiar and authentic scenery capable of expressing the truest essence of their bond.

The ceremony took place in the evocative rural church of Santa Lucia, nestled in the greenery just a few kilometers from Olbia — one of the most intimate and meaningful settings for a wedding in Sardinia. Here, among silence, natural light, and the scent of Mediterranean scrub, the rite unfolded with sincerity and quiet intensity, allowing the depth of emotion to emerge with gentle grace.

From the countryside, the story then moved toward the northeastern coast of the island, to Golfo Aranci, where the reception was held at the Hotel Gabbiano Azzurro — an elegant seaside venue overlooking crystal-clear waters and pale sandy beaches. The atmosphere was luminous and distinctly Mediterranean, perfect for celebrating a wedding by the sea in Sardinia.

The most symbolic moment of the day was the couple’s arrival by sea. They reached the reception aboard their own boat, an early-twentieth-century lateen sail vessel — the very boat on which they first met. For Michele, who works in the nautical world, the sea is not only a profession but a vocation, a constant presence in his life. The short crossing from the Golfo Aranci pier to the hotel’s private dock became a suspended passage, carried by the wind and the soft light of mid-October.

Upon arrival, friends and family welcomed them with enthusiasm, marking the beginning of an intense celebration filled with smiles, embraces, and shared joy. This wedding in Golfo Aranci tells the story of an authentic choice, where every element — from the rural church to the boat, from the sea to the light of Gallura — contributes to creating a vivid and timeless memory.

A wedding reportage in Sardinia that brings together spontaneity, tradition, and unique landscapes, returning through images the truth of an unrepeatable day.
